Module information for Tiki 7

As of Tiki 7, site header items, etc. are displayed using modules. These are some recommended module assignments (supported by the theme stylesheet):

Top:
logo (nobox=y)
login_box (nobox=y, mode=popup)
menu (nobox=y, type=horiz, id=secondary_site_menu, class=secondary_site_menu)
menu [main "tiki-top" horizontal menu] (nobox=y, id=tiki-top, type=horiz, css=y)

Topbar:
logo (nobox=y)
search (nobox=y)

(The logo module is assigned twice, to provide the site subtitle in the Top module zone and the logo (if any) and site title in the Topbar module zone.)

Middle columns

To best emulate the original design, column padding and margins in underground.css have been set assuming a two-column page — left column and center column. All three columns can be used, of course, but for the best appearance the margins/padding should be adjusted to be symmetrical, etc. I'll add details about this soon.

Since the horizontal menu and the site subtitle are on the same line, if the menu has a number of top-level items, it may overlap the site subtitle. In this case, either reduce the number of menu items or shorten or not use the site subtitle.

To check out the site with various themes, just use this switch. Please note that many themes have theme options (the second drop-down)

chibaguy, 06:31 GMT, Thu 16 of May, 2013: Veronica, that star has been eclipsed many times, with Tiki 11.o now soon to rise. ;-)
veronicamarsh, 08:33 GMT, Sun 12 of May, 2013: tikiwiki 2.0 is the star of this weekend. Just follow as we add it to SM dev.
chibaguy, 02:57 GMT, Thu 04 of Oct, 2012: This is a late reply, but, for the record, the Milkyway theme (following the original design) doesn't have a search form in the top bar. You can put one at the top of a side column, etc. instead.
andi6803, 12:20 GMT, Tue 18 of Oct, 2011: I use tiki 6v4 with the Milkyway theme. But it's not possible to switch on the search bar at the top bar. With other themes it works.
